Flexible LED Filament - 3V - Various Colors and Lengths - 10 Packs

$12.95
SKU 40005600001

Have fun and create all sorts of useful, interesting and entertaining lighting projects using the range of flexible LED filament products from PMD Way. They're not noodles, but they're easy to use - electrically wired the same way as an LED, but you can twist, bend, fold, loop and place it where you need it.

Ideal for custom lettering, LEGO models, model railways, art installations, backlighting or whatever your imagination can come up with.

There's five colors to choose from - red, green, blue, pink and 2200K warm white; and lengths from 38mm to 300mm. Use the options menu to choose your requirements and add to cart.

These are for packs of ten of the same color and length.

We also offer individual orders - click here to learn more.

If you would like ten or more of different colors and lengths, please email your exact requirements to support@pmdway.com so we can come up with a bundle for you.

Using the filaments:

Using these flexible LED filaments is the same as preparing for an LED. Each filament needs 3V DC at 100 mA of current. During testing we found that 100 mA was incredibly bright - and almost impossible to photograph, so you may want to experiment with the current to achieve your desired brightness.

A resistor in series with the filament (just like an LED) is the solution. To calculate the required resistor, use the series resistor calculator:

Vf is 3 V, Vs is your supply voltage (e.g. a 6 V battery pack) and R is the value of the required resistor in Ohms. You can also use PWM or any common LED driver circuit or board to adjust brightness and control the filaments.

Filament polarity:

The positive end of each filament (the "anode" in LED terminology) is the end with the tiny hole in the metal contact:

The negative end (or "cathode) will NOT have the tiny hole in the metal contact.

Don't forget to check out our full range of flexible LED filaments if this doesn't meet your needs. And as always, all orders receive free delivery.
