Monitor your reddit karma with Raspberry Pi
If you're the kind of person that spends a lot of time browsing and commenting on the reddit social media discussion platform - you most likely are quite ... observant of your karma score.
However you have other things to do during the day or night and can't be constantly logged in to reddit to keep track of it. So instead, build your own karma display and let a Raspberry Pi Zero do the work.
This has been demonstrated by Jaden Zaleski who uses a compact OLED display built into the belly of the reddit mascot as shown below, which hides the Raspberry Pi. Some simple code polls reddit and thus displays the karma on the OLED:
Simple, and it works. To learn how, visit Jaden's project page.
And if you're interested in doing this yourself, PMD Way has a you covered with a wide range of parts, such as:
- Raspberry Pi Zero packs
- 128 x 64 OLED displays
- Jumper wires
- ... and much more!
