Paranoid about your Ping? Build a Ping Tester with ESP8266
Those of you who enjoy online gaming will have a deep understanding that ping time is everything - the faster your network connection can respond to the server, the faster you can do nefarious things to your game opponents.
However some networks are better than others, so you need to know what's going on with the ping time ... at all times.
Thomas Berthet had just this conundrum, so built a compact ping tester using an ESP8266 baord an a compact OLED. This unit pings Google, however you can change this in the code. A quick demonstration is shown in the following video:
