Supersized Nintendo-style game controller with Arduino and LEGO
You can easily create USB keyboard and joystick emulators with Arduino Leonardo-compatible boards without too much effort, and many people have done just that.
However here at PMD Way we're electronics and LEGO enthusiasts, so wanted to highlight the following project by Julius von Brunk.
Julius has made a gigantic replica of an original Nintendo Entertainment System out of LEGO bricks, and fitted it with an Arduino-compatible circuit so that the controller actually works.
This process involves purchasing a huge quantity of LEGO bricks ... which will add up, however you will result with an awesome controller that will last for years.
Then again, this would offer a great amount of entertainment, and is demonstrated in the following video:
For more information, head over to Julius von Brunk's very interesting website. And if you're interested in making your own version, PMD Way can help you with the parts, such as:
- Arduino Leonardo or compatible board
- Large arcade-style buttons
- and much more!
