The Arduino-powered Color Musical Instrument
In order to create a fun activity for children, Instructables member poblock1982 came up with the following device that demonstrates sounds and colors - and also to help start conversations about the physics of colors.
Based around an Arduino Nano-compatible board, the device uses a color sensor to report on the color on a wheel that rotates around under the sensor.
Each color is assigned a tune in the Arduino firmware. so as the color wheel rotates the device can play a tune. A quick demonstration is shown in the video below:
