ML8511 UV Ultraviolet Light Sensor Breakout Board
Now available from PMD Way is this neat ML8511 breakout board, which contains an easy to use ultraviolet light sensor. This MP8511 UV (ultraviolet) sensor works by giving an analogue output related to the amount of UV light detected by the sensor. Ideal for creating projects that warn the user of sunburn or detect the UV index.
This sensor detects light in the 280-390nm wavelength. This is categorised as part of the UVB (burning rays) spectrum and most of the UVA (tanning rays) spectrum. It gives an analogue voltage that is linearly related to the measured UV intensity (mW/cm2). You can use any microcontroller with an ADC (analogue to digital converter) with this breakout board.
