TCS230 Color Sensor Board
Now available from PMD Way is this compact and useful color sensor board based on the TCS230. This sensor is a light to frequency converter, which has a programmable color and full scale output frequency. Free delivery, worldwide.
This is an interesting device, the sensor consists of a grid of 8x8 photodiodes, 64 in total. Sixteen have red filters, sixteen have green filters, sixteen have blue filters, and sixteen don't have filters.
These photodiodes are intermixed for accuracy, whose values are fed into a current-to-frequency converter which outputs a square wave whose frequency can be matched to a particular color in your dev board's firmware.
Board can operate on both 3.3V and 5V systems.
