If you want to add a GPS receiver to your project to log locations, determine positions and so on - or want a very accurate 1 Hz time base - then this value GPS module from PMD Way solves your problem. And with free delivery.

Based around the ATGM336H GPS receiver, this can be considered an equivalent to the ublox NEO-8M modules.  

This GPS module works on both 3.3 V and 5 V DC for power and logic, and outputs standard NMEA-format GPS data for which there are libraries for Arduino, Raspberry Pi and more. 

1 Hz output is via a dedicated pin on the PCB.

  • Works with GPS (USA), Glonass (russia), Beidou (China), GALILEO (EU), and QZSS (Japan)
  • Operating voltage: 3.3 or 5 V DC. 
  • Power consumption: <25 mA (at 3.3 V DC)
  • Onboard supercapacitor to maintain position data to allow for hot starts after a cold start (location in under two seconds)
  • Uses up to 32 GPS tracking  channels
  • Cold start capture sensitivity: -148 dBm
  • Tracking sensitivity: -162 dBm
  • Positioning accuracy: 2.5 m
  • Position time from cold start: ~32 seconds
  • PCB size: 13.1 x 15.7 mm
