Build a miniature Pong game with Arduino
Recreating classic computer games from the previous century is a fun an interesting way to use an Arduino or compatible board, thanks to the lesser hardware requirements and ease of writing the code.
One example of this has been demonstrated by Michael Teeuw whose Arduino-based rendition of " Pong" can be recreated in less than an hour.
The paddle controls are simple potentiometers, with the gameplay displayed using an inexpensive OLED module which offers a smooth and clear output - as shown in the following video:
You could also scale this game into a larger version by using a composite monitor or TV and an on-screen display shield for Arduino. Either way, to recreate your own Pong game with Arduino visit Michael's interesting website.
And if you're interested in making your own version, Tronixlabs can help you with the parts, such as:
- Arduino Uno or compatible board
- OLED display
- 10k potentiometers
- solderless breadboard
- and much more!
