Read resistor values with your Android Smartphone

For most people, reading resistor colour codes isn't a problem - however for many of us who are colourblind or with deteriorating vision, determining values means plenty of time with a multimeter - or comparing against the chart below - until now.

But now - thanks to Parth Davé's Android app, your smartphone can now be used to determine resistor values just by waving the camera over the parts in questions.

Based on OpenCV, the app is open-source and ready to use. Check out a demonstration in the following video:
