This module is smarter than your average RS485 to serial converter as it can not only operate as a level converter between 3.3 and 5V signals; it can also take care of flow control - there's no need to "receive - send" control signals,

Furthermore this module is ideal for longer distances, and has been tested up to 800m for RS485 runs. 

Specifications:

  • Operating voltage: 3.3V and 5V DC
  • Supports baud rates between 110 and 256000bps
  • Operating temperature: -40 Celsius to +85 Celsius
