Now available from PMD Way are these interesting SK6812 RGB LED strips - that use side-light LEDs. Unlike other strips, these LEDs shine their light to the side, perpendicular to the strip ... instead of straight up. 

This is for a roll of three metres, with 144 LEDs per metre. Strip PCB is black in color, and enclosed in dust and splash-proof silicon tubing.

Strip is terminated with a 2.1mm DC socket for power, and a 3-pin JST-SM connector for data. Click here for matching JST SM cables.
