UART Isolator

PMD Way offers a growing range of UART isolator devices. These are a good idea when you're connecting prototypes or circuits you're not entirely confident with to your microcontroller/PC or single-board computer via a serial/USB/UART connection. 

The isolator will protect your host device from any errant voltages and instead destroy itself at a low cost - instead of, for example, your laptop being completely destroyed. John wishes he had one himself when he accidentally allowed 48V DC to blast through USB into his (now dead) Thinkpad T-series. That'll learn him.
