Artificial Intelligence is not always correct

Artificial Intelligence is not always correct

There are many ways to find out information about our products and services. Some people use a search engine, some talk to other people, some will search our website - and some people are starting to use AI.

Fair enough, why wouldn't you? AI is increasingly prevalent and seems to be the answer for any problem.

However, AI is not always correct. We recently had some heated discussions with customers about our delivery times - as they were told by an AI system that our stock is in Australia.

We ran our own search with the same AI platform and was given the same, incorrect result:

Now it's great (for us) that the AI gave us top billing in their results, but the note about AU stock is wrong. We make our delivery sources, delivery times and other information quite clear in our shipping page, and also at the bottom of every single page. How AI got this wrong is beyond our imagination, as it's such a simple piece of information.

The only source of truth about anything with regards to our products, services and policies is the content on pmdway.com, our social media accounts or from us via email. We cannot control the output of AI, but we can control what is on our website and online store. I hope you understand this situation is out of our control.

And yes, the image for this blog post was generated by AI. It's good for that sort of thing.

So in the meanwhile, have fun and make something.
