Enable Keyboard Shortcuts with a tiny Macro Keypad

A lot of Arduino users may not realise that the boards based on the ATmega32U4 microcontroller (such as the Leonardo and Pro Micro) are able to emulate USB devices such as keyboards and mice.

With this knowledge in hand, Instructables user moderntimesmelon has designed and built a tiny macro keypad that allows for complex keyboard press combinations to be activated at the press of a button.

By embedded an Arduino Pro Micro-compatible board inside a small 3D-printed enclosure that has three key switches, they can now activate various useful key press sequences easily and rapidly.

You could also make this project the foundation of your own macro keypad, or create a larger version to suit your own needs. To get started, check out the project's instructable page
