Track YouTube statistics with a large LED Matrix Display
Any budding YouTuber and electronics enthusiast will enjoy building and using this project - a giant YouTube subscriber count display made from custom PCBs and lots of large LEDs.
The process to build your own has been documented by Bluino electronics, and can easily be replicated with some time. Four LED matrix PCBs are connected via SPI bus to an ESP8266 WiFi-enabled microcontroller - which takes care of the connection back to YouTube as well.
Although the PCBs have been designed for this project, the information to fabricate your own has been provided so you can recreate the display yourself - which is demonstrated in the following video:
For more information on how to make your own display, visit the detailed project page.
And if you're interested in doing this yourself, PMD Way can help you with the parts, such as:
- LoLin ESP8266 products
- loads of through-hole 10mm LEDs
- MAX7219 in surface-mount packaging
- and more...
