If you need to confirm a USB port is delivering the required current, or want to soak test a design of your own - then this USB type electronic load from PMD Way solves the problem. Free delivery, worldwide.

Simply insert the load into the USB socket, and use the slide switches to select a load current of 1, 2 or 3A DC. The pair of 10W resistors are then electrically arranged to allow for the required current - for example:

PLEASE NOTE - The resistors will get very hot after a short period of time - and can reach a temperature of around 200 degrees Celsius.
