Run your ESP01 module efficiently and in a reliable manner with 5V development boards such as Arduino Uno using this power adaptror board from PMD Way.
ESP01 modules require 3.3V at up to ~350mA to operate, and also communicate via serial at 3.3V. Although it is tempting to do so, you can't directly power and wire your ESP01 to a regular Arduino Uno or 5V board and expect it to reliably work.
Thus the adaptor board is born. It has three functions:
- Power and serial pin breakout to convenient inline header pins
- Onboard 3.3V power regulator with an input range of up to 12V DC
- Onboard level converter to allow serial connection to a 5V development board
