HDMI Cable Test Board and Breakout
Easily test HDMI cables using this convenient and great value test board from PMD Way with free delivery.
You can test continuity of full-size HDMI cables, along with the lesser-used mini and micro HDMI cables. Great for service people, technicians, or those working with lots of cables that receive abuse from end users such as the education and rental sectors.
The board is powered by either a standard USB cable input, or a CR2032 button cell battery (not included). The nice acrylic enclosure is included.
The tester supports standard HDMI Type A, mini HDMI Type C, and micro HDMI Type D cables. It does not support Type B or Type E interfaces.
Interesting note: A standard HDMI cable should light up all 20 indicators, but some manufacturers may omit four shielded data lines (TMDS Date0 Shield, TMDS Date1 Shield, TMDS Date2 Shield and TMDS Clock Shield), as well as one DDC/CEC Ground, to reduce costs. Cables without these lines are not standard HDMI cables and are considered non-compliant.
