Never forget to water your favourite plants with this autonomous soil moisture sensor with alarm from PMD Way.
Simply insert a CR2032 battery (not included, but you can get one from a drug store or electronics store) into the sensor, then stick the sensor into the soil.
As the sensor uses capacitive humidity technology as opposed to resistive humidity sensing - it doesn't make any electrical contact with the soil thus avoiding electrode corrosion and soil electrolysis. This also results with better accuracy and longer battery life.
Please note: This is more suited for short-term projects, research and so on. It will not last more than a few months in the outdoors, in a commercial growing environment. Please review our other sensors for a longer-lasting unit or email support@pmdway.com for guidance.
