Easily interface your BBC micro:bit with the outside world using this neat prototyping module from PMD Way. 

Not only can you add your own circuitry to the micro:bit by either using the included solderless breadboard or soldering the circuit straight to the module - you can also drop in Arduino Uno-style shields into the inline header sockets. 

Of course the pinouts will be different, and they are clearly labelled on the module - however you can then use your own customised shields with the micro:bit. Or not!
