FRAM Breakout Board 256Kbit / 32KByte
Now available from PMD Way is this useful FRAM Breakout Board 256Kbit / 32KByte with an I2C interface.
FRAM is non-volatile and can easily be read/written 10 trillion times. It's similar to Dynamic random-access memory (DRAM), with a ferroelectric layer instead of a dielectric layer.
It is particularly suitable for use with low power data loggers and for buffering data in the absence of a stable voltage source.
The FRAM chip used provides 8 KB of memory, and uses a clock up to 20 MHz. Each byte can be read and written instantaneously, but will keep the memory for 95 years at room temperature.
Unlike EEPROM, you can read and write to FRAM an almost infinite number of times without degradation, and it is still non-volatile. Very useful!
- Operating voltage: 2.7~5.5 V DC
- I2C bus address: 0x50
- MB85RC256V IC datasheet
- Arduino library
- Raspberry Pi Pico library (micropython)
Inline header pins are included but not soldered to the board. Use the options menu to select a pack size of one, two or five boards to save money with volume.
