The FS3000 Air Velocity Sensor Module from PMD Way is a low-profile, surface-mount flow sensor designed to measure direct air speeds up to 15 meters per second. The FS3000 is targeted at air-handling systems, HVAC, analytical gas monitoring systems, data centers, and air-quality systems to detect fan or blower failures, assist with fan speed control, and identify filter clogging.

Conventional methods for monitoring critical component temperatures rely on arrays of temperature sensors or the internal temperature sensor within an MCU. These methods are inaccurate and complex because each system board must be individually modeled. The Renesas FS3000 measures direct local airflow, enabling system controls to make rapid adjustments. By providing closed-loop control, systems can significantly lower overall energy costs.

The FS3000 Air Velocity Module utilizes a series of MEMS thermocouples (thermopiles) to provide high sensitivity. Robust thermal isolation of the MEMS sensing element, combined with a silicon-carbide film, offers excellent abrasive wear resistance and long-term reliability.

Use the options menu to select between two sensor options: 0 ~ 7.23 m/s and 0 ~ 15 m/s. Inline header pins are included but not soldered to the boards, and delivery is free.
