TTL Serial Isolator Board
If you're working with circuity prototypes operating at higher voltages that connect to a host device such as a PC, single board computer, expensive development board, or you're just paranoid - then use these TTL serial isolator boards from PMD Way.
They can protect your host device from errant power surges, by destroying themselves instead of your host device being destroyed.
This unit is based on twin optoisolators and supports baud rates of around 600 bps through to 250kbps. Voltage levels can be 3.3 or 5 V DC.
These boards are for TTL serial and are not designed for full, voltage-swinging RS232. Connection is via terminal blocks as shown below:
Boards are available in packs of one, five and ten - use the options menu to select your requirement.
