Ultra Narrow WS2812B RGB LED Strip
Addressable LED strips are useful and fun, everyone knows and enjoys the WS2812B RGB LEDs, often known as "neopixels" - and here's a new, tiny version for the smallest of spaces.
Strips are 1m or 5m in length, containing 160 LEDs per metre. The strip is a tiny 2.7mm in width - you can fit this almost anywhere. The power contacts on the bottom of the strip, and the data on the top. If you're going to cut up the strip, note that this is possible every two LEDs in length, for example:
The arrows indicate the data flow - pointing away from the source (e.g. controller, microcontroller data out, Arduino out, etc).
The power requirements are an operating voltage of 5 V DC - no more than 5.5 V DC or you will damage the LEDs, and has a power consumption of 5 watts per metre.
Strips are terminated with wires leading to a 3 pin connector. Or you can snip off the connector and use the bare wires - 5V, data and GND.
Controlling these LED strips are easy - search for WS2812B or "neopixel" and your platform
